Matches provides internet based basic conceptual engineering information for new energy, chemical, manufacturing and metallurgical development.  Starting from laboratory or operating data, Matches prepares a basic design for the next phase of development - to take the new product or process from small scale tests to pilot plants and to first commercial production.

One of the test of developing a new technology is "How does it compare with existing technology?"  Is it simpler, better or lower cost?  This questioning often starts even before any laboratory testing occurs.  Matches can assist in focusing your new technology investment.

Environmental problem often have many solutions - Often several technologies will solve the problem.   What is the best technology?  Matches can assist you in selecting the best technology or in analyzing the cost of a technology over the life of the project.

Capabilities

From conceptual ideas, small scale tests and literature, Matches prepares basic conceptual chemical and cost engineering information for new energy,  chemical, manufacturing and metallurgical development.  Matches identifies and prepares an analysis of existing and/or potentially competitive technologies.   Matches compares the  new technology with competitive technologies.

Capability 1
Provides conceptual process design for a technology - basic process description, design basis, overall material and energy balances, and simple process flow diagram.
Capability 2
Selects and size major equipment, estimate equipment capital cost and order-of-magnitude process cost for a technology.
Capability 3
Estimate operating cost of a process technology.
Capability 4
Prepares preliminary product profitability analysis (typically 20 hours).
Capability 5
Analyze process, risks, timing and location (time required varies widely).
Capability 6
Analysis customer's life cycle costs for new product and competitive products (time required varies widely).
